The Transformation of a Landscape: Children's Literature Today

The current production of books for children is marked in both its quantity and its diversity. To describe the manner that editorial offerings evolve under the contradictory pressures of market imperatives, the demands of artistic creation and social demands, this article studies the process of diversification and uniformity of the work in three areas: defining the audience, the choice of themes and subjects, the development of new literary genres in children's literature.
