The academic libraries : ten years after the Vandevoorde report

In the eighties, the French academic libraries met a constant vital problem : were they going to pursue the decline announced in the middle of the seventies or to grow again ? The evolution of their resources and activities shows how they have first slowly increased before knowing, from 1988, a new development with the Miquel report and the revaluation of their means. The growth of the universities encourages this dynamics. The actual revival requires to continue the action during several years to rescue definitively the academie libraries.
