A New profession : the engineer-librarian

The librarian profession, as well as the whole cultural mediation profession, is living a double shift in context and content. The upheaval induced by the technical revolution is followed by a necessary reassessment of the skills, beyond the traditional divisions in the profession. With a critical eye on a profession suffering of partitioning and lacking professionalism, the author draws the portrait of the future librarian : more mobile, man of management and communication and working closely with different partners, he is a real cultural engineer.
